A Guided Walk around the Jellicoe Water Gardens

This walk will take in the restored Water Gardens designed by Geoffrey Jellicoe as the centrepiece of Hemel Hempstead new town. The influences behind its final shape, the changes in the design and concept, the dereliction into which it fell, the restoration and ongoing involvement of the Friends and the local community will all be addressed. The role of HGT in this will also be highlighted. The Community Garden is run by the Friends and has links to other gardens and to the Orchards East project.

The cost of the walk is £5 . Members are responsible for their own transport and refreshments. Reservation and payment for places on the three walks should be made to Mrs Liz Carlin, using this form.
Each applicant will receive detailed information on the location, timing and the precise meeting point for each walk, together with advice on suitable clothing and footwear and contact details of the Walk’s leader.
