Repton’s Ashridge-a guided tour of the gardens designed by Humphry Repton at Ashridge
This event was put on last year to commemorate the bi-centenary of Repton’s death. The tours were over subscribed. There will be a short introduction explaining Repton’s plans for the gardens there followed by a guided tour showing how they were adapted and later in any way altered. The gardens at Ashridge are perhaps the best example in the county, showing Repton’s ideas of garden design. The tour will last about 1.5 hours . Assemble outside the main entrance to the house.
