Local Lists

There are many heritage assets which are not scheduled, on the national List (for buildings), or Register (for parks and gardens).  However, these local sites tell us much about our history and contribute much to what Hertfordshire is.  Local Planning Authorities are encouraged to keep such local lists and the majority of our LPA in Hertfordshire have this for buildings but not for historic parks and gardens.  We have supplied such lists to St Albans, Dacorum, Broxbourne and Welwyn Hatfield and are working to supply the rest of our ten LPAs.

The individual entries are taken from the research reports reproduced by the HGT Research group but condensed to be suitable for reference by planners, developers and others.  Only those sites where identifiable features remain are included.  Our many historic parks and gardens lost under motorways or housing developments are not included on the local List for planning purposes.
